Privacy Policy

Valera Consulting Inc. is committed the confidentiality of its clients.  We will not disclose personal information collected from a client to a third party unless consent is obtained from the client, or unless such third parties are authorized by law.   

Personal information pertains to the identity of an individual. This does not include a person's name, title, business number or business address.  

Occasionally, personal information including email, home address, phone number or credit card details are required to deliver appraisal reports or extend credit.   The nature of residential real estate appraising itself is implicit in its requirement to obtain personal information.  This often includes the client's home address, pictures, plans, notes and measurements as they pertain to a home.  Consent to collect, use and disclose this information is received during the scheduling of the residential appraisal inspection or during the inspection itself through the verbal consent of both the client and the resident, if different, or from a person duly authorized to yield consent.    

Financial statements such as rent rolls, building operating expenses, architectural plans, maintenance schedules, real property reports, soil or environmental reports collected for the purposes of commercial real estate appraisal are also kept in confidence.  Consent to collect, use and disclose this information is received through an engagement letter signed by the client, via email, or through verbal consent from the client or person authorized by the client to yield consent. 

Information is stored for a minimum of three years in a secured location at the business office of Valera Consulting Inc.   A client, or person with written authorization from the client, may request to withdraw consent to our holding, using or disclosing personal information, or to correct this information at any time.  Any comments, complaints, questions, or requests to remove or access this information should be directed to Mark Overdulve via email at mark@valera.ca or phone at (403) 969-6653.
