Prerequisite Steps for a Candidate Appraiser:

Complete BUSI 330 Online Course through UBC, Sauder School of Business, Real Estate Division - Cost is approximately $500 (see www.sauder.ubc.ca for details)

Become a candidate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (see
www.aicanada.ca or call 403.207.7892 for details)

Attend an AIC ethics seminar in Alberta

Equipment Required:

Must have access to a vehicle (most properties you would be assigned to view are inaccessible via public transport), Windows-based laptop to run ACI software for appraisal reports and a measuring device such as a laser or 100 foot (30 m) tape.

Approximate Monthly Costs:

The monthly costs to be an appraisal candidate, including MLS access with the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB), AIC Dues, Errors and Omission Insurance, works out to approximately $400 per month.  Please don't hesitate to call or send an email to admin@valera.ca to see if this opportunity would work for you.
